MY ETHOS -
CURIOSITY, COMPASSION, CONNECTION

My story

My passion for the body and anatomy started 20 years ago during my Degree in Dance Studies. As my career in dance and performance was just beginning, I won a bursary to research the mind and body connection through movement and the philosophy of embodiment, the felt sense of being in the body.

Suddenly, however, my life was about to change! My son was going to be born at the same time as my Master Degree would have started; I was young and in a foreign country, facing the challenges of pregnancy and motherhood. I decided to withdraw from the programme and soon after I became a full-time mum for about 4 years.  As time went by, I slowly regained a professional life and alongside having a foot in my creative practice as a dance artist, I worked in the Health and Social Care sector assisting people with autism, visual impairments and other complex needs. During this time I have also invested extensively in personal growth and I began a systematic meditation practice that gave incredible purpose to my life. I currently teach meditation classes at Amitabha Buddhist Centre in Bristol.

In 2014 I had my first Bowen Therapy treatment and I have personally experienced its powerful healing effects and its potential to enhance the function and dynamics of the myofascial system. I decided to train as a practitioner, completing my training with The Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia. I am a Member of the Bowen Association UK and given that soft-tissue therapy is a rapidly developing field of work, I am supervised to attend professional training every year. I have a Level 3 Certificate in Mental Health and a Level 3 Certificate in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology for Complementary Therapies with ITEC. My further training includes Moving Fascia® Teacher Training Level 1 with Evolve Movement Education, to teach a fascia-focused movement technique, one-to-one and to groups. I have recently completed a six months mentorship programme 'Integrating Bodymind Dialoguing in Self and Clinical Practice' with Tensegrity Medicine™,  a trauma-informed approach to relieve physical symptoms by bringing awareness to belief systems, emotional and tension patterns.

My work is framed around helping others to heal and achieve their potential for wellbeing and optimal movement. As part of my practice and philosophy, I strive to both educate and heal my clients, empowering them to live better and healthier lives. I'd like you to understand how powerful your mind and body really are, and how each symptom is part of a larger system of relationships with yourself, your environments, physical and mental habits and belief systems.

If you need a positive, gentle and caring practitioner, please don’t hesitate to reach out to find out how I can help you restore yourself and unlock your potential for healing. Sometimes improvements can be seen from the very first session.
